McKenna Lynn Creative

McKenna Lynn is a historian, writer, artist, and Florida transplant living in the Northeast, near the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. She is drawn to tiny things, leafy beings, and very wordy books.

When not at her job as a communicator and researcher at the oldest denominational archives in the nation, McKenna is at home creating miniatures, collage art, and fiction in many forms. If not there, she will most likely be found in the woods, hugging a tree, or at the library, scouring the newest offerings.

McKenna is a graduate of Florida State University, where she earned a dual-degree in English and History before continuing her academic career at Rutgers University-Camden, where she earned her Masters in Public History. A trained archivist, she sees the worth in old things; to her, your great-great-grandmother's egg beater is just as precious and awe-inspiring as a 17th-century manuscript.

In October of 2024, McKenna self-published her first novel, Finding Home, a small-town romance that leans toward the literary. She is currently working on a number of projects, including a southern-gothic tale set in swampy south Florida, where she grew up; a fictional archive of fantastical horned women that combines Jersey Devil folklore with South Jersey history; the second book of her Sweetgum duology; and a collection of historical essays about the cemeteries she wanders through, among others.

McKenna holds within her heart an insatiable appetite for the written word and an eagerness to create artworks that dig into the intricacies of the human experience, all its tangled beauty.
